Like, you woke up one morning with a strong impression that there was specifically a person in your head. Any responses or anything of that sort at the time?
2:47 AM
Sorry to ask many questions, but I want to get a good gauge on what's going on here
I don't think you can "force" it, because that implies that maybe it inherently wasn't meant to be, which is probably not correct. Lots of tulpas are from zero.
2:51 AM
Just trying to make it happen is where the tulpa comes from.
If you want for it to become a tulpa, a lot of that might go out the window. They will have the freedom to change any of it. I wouldn't hold yourself to that preset knowledge if you want to go from "character in your head" to "tulpa."
I think I know to some extent what your concerns are. Do you have any idea how you would go about defining what the difference would be between you "forcing" things (I assume you mean making up responses?) as opposed to your potential tulpa actually speaking to you?
2:55 AM
Like, if i were to look at a coin, I could tell it is fake by weighing it or trying to dissolve it with acid.
2:56 AM
What is something you might expect would work as a test like that for your tulpa?
hmm, knowing her, it would be to tell her to do something on her own, that i would not think of, but with that it would force me to think, so i can't really do that.
2:57 AM
that is a tough question
2:58 AM
if i try later tonight when i leave my mind blank i can try it
It is, and the tough part is I don't think I can give you very good answers either, because tests like this are very personal.
What I personally have been fond of doing is to contract my own attempts at faking the thoughts of a tulpa to the actual responses you get.
2:58 AM
attempt to build a feeling for the difference and see how things play out over time.
My most broad recommendation is that you take things slow and careful. If anything big of scary or extreme happens, try to weigh it as fake first, and come here with questions before you go assuming anything drastic about your tulpa based on their actions. Same would go for any other new potential tulpas popping up.(edited)
i was the other day talking to them and have a conversation and, when i was kind of forcing them to talk in a way the a said a line, that i never thought of saying, then i gave them the answer to that, and they said "that is really cool"(edited)
3:00 AM
which both of the lines the question and response were not on me of creating
Hey, I've been working on forcing and such for awhile and just like 30 minutes ago I woke up after I heard my names called by someone I'd never heard before. This has happened 2 times now already. Could it be my tulpa?
I mean, it could be but this has never happened to me before. It was very weird and confusing when it first happened.
3:28 AM
I'll try asking in the morning since I was just woken out of sleep. They haven't talked before so i don't know how well it'll go but it's worth a shot.
"hypnogogic (falling asleep) or hypnopompic (waking up) sensations.
Your brain is in a transitional state of being half-awake/half-asleep, so it seems to you that you are awake but you’re really not fully lucid. If your subconscious mind begins dreaming while you are still sort-of-awake, it seems to you as though these sounds or images or feelings are coming from outside yourself, but its really just your own brain-mind trying to fall asleep or wake up."
Not really. They can "help" you out, but it is not my belief that the help is anything but symbolic or emotional. A tulpa who is "good at math" or "is giving me support" can do a lot to boost your esteem and make you think you are going to do better, and that itself can help you out, but I don't believe a tulpa can enhance your abilities directly.
Regarding memories, I doubt it. However, I have heard testimony along the lines of some tulpas having different stregths. For example, a tulpa being better at focusing, or doing math and processing data, or even tulpas and hosts having different levels of proficiency with various languages that the brain knows. @luvil

If you get to a point where switching is effortless, I think it could be possible that you could identify your tulpa's strengths, and switch accordingly.
3:43 PM
Undoubtedly, they do help with self esteem and emotional support, as Reguile has said.
Can vouch that tulpas have a higher capacity to be a hindrance to school due to distracting nature as opposed to being helpful. There is much potential for helpful depending on how you work it
It's possible as we have parrallel processing. I've recalled a few things my host has forgotten, such as when he reminds us to remember something specific that he know he'll forget. Some people say it's impossible but it was a necessity in order to have a tulpa. Kind of silly how we've gone backwards.
I have actually done that once myself so I can confirm it is possible(edited)
6:41 PM
In an exam, my host had no idea what the answer to a question was, and I was able to answer it for him
6:41 PM
Dunno how it works, but that's what happened
6:43 PM
I don't say it's impossible.
6:44 PM
Well, my tulpas often helped me during exams. Not in that way though. They managed to calm me down when I panicked. And I think I might help me remind some things
